New products, New group, and New Contest!

I've been a busy little sewing fanatic who's ready to pull out her hair and run down the street screaming "take me to the loony bin!" Ha ha! Not really but I have been starting some new things up. I created a group on Facebook that I'd love you to join. I'm showing off my designs and would even love to see some interaction from newbies who are just learning how to sew. I'm all for offering advice - even the bad stuff. Hee hee! Once you've requested to join, I'll add you. I want the group to remain private so until I can figure out how to get followers added automatically, I have to approve individually. But I approve everyone so don't worry.

I went to a craft/vendor show over the weekend that was just so wonderful. I had the opportunity to attend a much larger one but since I'm still working on my first year at these shows, I decided the smaller ones would be better. I spent time at a local church that had 400 women attending. They asked me for a percentage of my sales and even provided me with brunch and the chance to hear the most inspiring speaker I've heard in a long time. It was such a wonderful experience that I've decided I want to do this show every year! The only part that I found to be frightening was the feeding frenzy of 400 women swarming my table! I think I would have made a lot more money if I'd brought someone along to help. Next year!

I've been doing some custom orders for Snuggle Bags too. When my children were young we used square blankets and wrapped them in what we called a "burrito." I saw how the nurses were wrapping them and asked for help to do the same. However, I found out recently that not everyone asks and not everyone is shown how to wrap the baby. So enter the new trend of Swaddling Bags and you have a great fix for even the most uncoordinated parent (like me). It's like a little sleeping bag with flaps to put around the arms. I also found out that parents are loving the idea of combining babies with camouflage. I never thought I'd see something like that but received a request for one. Then I made it and fell in love! It's just the cutest thing ever!

It's not only functional and cute, it's warm and cuddly. If you're in the market for one of these great bags, just come over to my group and order one or use the contact me form on the right side of this blog. Just let me know what kind of pattern you're looking for on the outside and I'll see what I can find.

In addition to these bags, I made such a cute apron. This is my own pattern! I've decided that this year it's too late to sell the patterns so that's on my list for next year. However, I will be making these for the next few weeks. If you're interested in one, go to my group or use my contact form and I can get it out quickly for Christmas! They come in sizes for children, teens, and adults. Just let me know which size you need and give me a day to ship it out!

So how would you like to win one of these? I'm giving away a child's size Santa apron. These are perfect for children up to the age of 12. How do you win it? All you need to do is follow me here on my blog and follow me in my group. Recommend your friends. For every friend that you recommend, have them comment with your name and you will get an extra entry. That's it! This contest will end on the 14th of December because I want choose someone and get this out to you before Christmas. You will even receive free shipping.
